Council getting ready for Red Light Ball

The members of the Nevada County Law Enforcement and Fire Protection Council were busy Thursday finalizing details of the annual Red Light Ball, one of its major fundraisers. Over the years, the council has raised an estimated $700,000 to purchase much-needed police and firefighting equipment.

The Red Light Ball will take place Feb. 22 in the main building at the Nevada County Fairgrounds.

The ball starts at 6 p.m. with no-host cocktails, followed by a program in which the council will recognize Tony Clarabut with its Public Safety Commitment Award at 7:20 p.m. Dinner and dancing to Rocky & The Revelettes follow the program.
