Costume show benefits KARE nursery

Local celebrities modeling Halloween costumes is one of the featured events during a KARE Affaire, a fundraiser gala dinner benefiting the KARE Crisis Nursery on Oct. 16.

Appetizers and a hosted bar on the river patio will precede a catered dinner with wine. The evening will be capped off by desserts and a silent auction by a pool.

Models include Phil Starr of Sierra Starr Winery, Celtic DJ Annie O’Dea Hestbeck, District 2 County Supervisor Ed Scofield and the Rev. Seth Kellerman of Emmanuel Episcopal Church. The costumes will also be auctioned off.

Carol Scofield will be master of ceremonies, with Jay Cooper as the auctioneer.

It starts at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, at the 200-acre Rincon Del Rio Estate on the Bear River.

Proceeds benefit KARE Crisis Nursery – for Kids Assistance and Respite in Emergencies – a home where families under stress can bring their small children for respite or emergency child care when no other resources are available to them.

The $75 donation includes all food and beverages. A table of 10 can be purchased for $500.

For information, visit KARECrisisNursery.org or call (530) 913-9770.
