The Union desires to correct erroneous information quickly and prominently. Bring errors to the attention of the news department during regular working hours by calling 273-9561.

A story on Page A1 of Thursday’s The Union misstated the length of the political filing extension if there are not enough candidates for a race or if an incumbent does not file for a special district seat. Candidate filing is extended five days or until Wednesday, Aug. 11. During that extension, incumbents cannot file to run for their seats.

A photo caption on Page 6 of Thursday’s Prospector section listed an incorrect date for the author’s discussion of the book “Done For a Dime.” Writer David Corbett will be at the Book Seller on Aug. 12.

Part of wine columnist Rod Byers’ e-mail address was cut from the end of his piece on Page C1 Thursday. He can be reached at or by phone at 913-3703.

The Union regrets the errors.
