Copy Right, the print and copy store that has been in business on Matlman Drive in Grass Valley for many years, is closing today, an employee said.

People in the store were packing boxes, and an employee said they learned today they were losing their jobs.

“It’s just economic, from what I know,” an other employee said. “We’ve been tryng to get hold of customers to tell them to come pick up (their materials) today.”

Owner Jim Fallbeck did not return a call asking for comment.

Long-time client Dwane Strawser, of Tour of Nevada City Bicycle Shop, said he learned of the closure when he dropped off a job earlier in the day, when an employee said she thought the store still could handle the work for him.

But at about 3:30 p.m., the employee called him back to pick up his materials: Trucks already had arrived to haul away the printers, the employee told Strawser.

“She said, ‘We’re all out of a job. He hasn’t been paying the lease, and they’re evicting us tonight. … By tomorrow, there will be n othing left in the buiding,'” Strawser said. “None of the employees knew anything about it.”
