Coming soon: Jamba Juice

The Jamba Juice store in the Pine Creek Shopping Center in Grass Valley is expected to open at the end of the month, officials said.

The chain store, which has its headquarters in San Francisco, has made its reputation by serving smoothies and juices, often with vitamins and other nutrients added. The company boasts that each smoothie provides three to six servings of fruit.

Five of Jamba Juice’s offerings are 100 percent fruit: Pomegranate Paradise, Strawberry Whirl, Raspberry Rainbow, Mega Mango and Peach Perfection.

The Pomegranate Paradise smoothie is 220 calories for 16 ounces, 340 calories for 24 ounces and 420 calories for the 30-ounce power size. Jamba Juice also offers four varieties of smoothie called Jamba Light. All light smoothies are less than 200 calories for 16 ounces.

With the growing popularity of green tea, Jamba Juice also offers three different smoothies made with tea. The Tahiti Green Tea smoothie has 20 calories more in each size than the all-fruit smoothies.

Jamba Juice also provides a few food offerings: Baked goods include Apple Cinnamon Pretzel, Sourdough Parm Pretzel, Cheddar Jalapeno Twist, Pizza Protein Stick, Blueberry Cinnamon Swirl and Honey Berry Bran muffins.

Jamba Juice was founded in 1990. For more information, visit the Web at http://www.jambajuice.com.
