Retired Federal Employees

Grass Valley Chapter No. 1335 of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees met March 14 at Moose Lodge No. 2217 on Allison Ranch Road. Thirty-two members enjoyed a traditional St. Patrick’s Day luncheon and listened to Chris Enns, who has co-authored several books about women of the Gold Rush era. The chapter has a luncheon meeting at the Moose Lodge on second Thursdays. All current and retired federal employees and their spouses are eligible to join. Auburn LOP Christian Women’s Club

The club will hold a “Weekenders Fashion Show” April 11 at the Lake of the Pines clubhouse. Margaret O’Connor from the Weekenders Co. will show selections from her spring line. Club members will model.

Guest speaker will be Betty Childs of Byron, who will discuss how she left behind her insecurities about appearance, career and relationships and turned into “A New Woman With A New Image.” The cost is $11 and includes tax, tip and free child care with advance notification.

Make reservations for the luncheon and child care by calling Joan Iverson at 885-5413 or Janet Wiseman at 268-9771. Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
