The Nevada County Climate Change Coalition offers a Community Book Study on This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs. The Climate by Naomi Klein.
The Nevada County Climate Change Coalition will offer a 5-session book study on This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs. The Climate by Naomi Klein, beginning on April 6. The study will be led by Sharon Delgado, and is open to all.
Each session will include a presentation summarizing the themes of each chapter, with small group and open discussion by those who are reading the book. The study will be held on the following Mondays at 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the Nevada City United Methodist Church, 433 Broad Street, Nevada City:
April 6- (pages 1-94) Introduction and Part One: Bad Timing (Chapters 1-2)
April 13- (pages 96-187) Part One: Bad Timing (Chapters 3-5)
May 4- (pages 189-290) Part Two: Magical Thinking (Chapters 6-8)
May 18- (pages 291-387) Part Three: Starting Anyway (Chapters 9-11)
June 1- (Pages 388-466) Part Three: Starting Anyway (Chapters 12-13); Conclusion

Book study organizers encourage participants to purchase copies of This Changes Everything from local book dealers: The Book Seller (272-2131) or Harmony Books (265-9564), well before the first meeting.
Following the book study, on June 22 at 7 p.m., This Changes Everything will be the topic for the Spiritual Book Club, sponsored by the Baha’is of Nevada County. Book study participants will share their insights at this public gathering, which will take place at the Madeline Helling Public Library in Nevada City.
The Nevada County Climate Change Coalition (NC-CCC) is made up of people dedicated to addressing global warming and its causes and effects through mindfulness, education, and action, and to challenging the systems that are creating global climate change.
NC-CCC meets regularly on the third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Community of the Mountains, 246 S. Church Street, Grass Valley. All are welcome.
