Children’s clothing swap on the San Juan Ridge

The Family Resource Center on the San Juan Ridge is hosting a children’s clothing swap in celebration of Earth Day, from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, April 24. The swap will be in the Lodge building on the Oak Tree School Campus.

Swapping is an excellent way to clean out your closets of items your children have outgrown, pass them on to other families and find clothing your kids can use. Swapping saves precious resources (materials, gas and money) and is great fun.

There are two ways to participate in the swap:

Bring clean children’s clothing, jackets and shoes to the Resource Center from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. any day from April 12-22. At that time, pay $5 or sign up to volunteer for one hour on the day of the swap. On the day of the event, bring clean children’s clothing, shoes and jackets to the Oak Tree Lodge from 2-2:30 p.m. Pay $6 admission and enter the swap at 3 p.m.

The doors will open for everyone at 3 p.m. In order to volunteer and not pay the entrance fee, people need to sign up in advance.

The swap is for children’s clothing in clean, laundered, good condition only. No toys, games, furniture or other items will be accepted.

Fun-filled kids’ activities will be provided during the event. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase.

Proceeds will benefit summer camp programming and parent cooperative play groups.
