Celebrating the impact of trains at Colfax Railroad Days

Colfax Railroad Days is an annual community event that celebrates the history and the role of the railroad in Placer County, held over the weekend in Colfax. At the railroad days the city unveiled new plant hangers with flower pots to beautify the downtown area. Artist Robert Findley of Findley Iron Warks in Newcastle made the engine for the hangers.

Colfax Railroad Days is an annual community event that celebrates the history and the role of the railroad in Placer County, held over the weekend in Colfax. At the railroad days the city unveiled new plant hangers with flower pots to beautify the downtown area. Artist Robert Findley of Findley Iron Warks in Newcastle made the engine adorning the hangers. Volunteer Cathy Kiefer and city mayor Tony Hesch unveiled the hangers. The People Mover Train Ride took passengers from the parking lot to the activities downtown. Also present was the Union Pacific’s Rotary Snowplow and models of live steam trains and modern freight trains.
