During a “training burn” Saturday at a home off Loma Rica Drive, a Grass Valley firefighter checks out the fire before turning on his hose. During three days of training, 85 firefighters took turns putting out first in the 3,500-square-foot home. Each time, two rookies and a firefighter were in the burning room to observe the fire-dousing techniques.
