Cancer center to present writing workshop

Beginning April 7, the Sierra Nevada Cancer Center presents a writing workshop for cancer patients, survivors, their caregivers, and families.

The workshop is a series of eight classes called “Writing to Heal,” taught by Molly Fisk. The series runs through May 26. The classes meet from 3 to 5 p.m. at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital, Classroom A. A fee of $20 covers the series.

Fisk explains that the key to using writing to heal is to write about events while simultaneously drawing on emotions to embellish the bare facts. She has developed a process that she says makes this kind of writing fun and enriching.
