Former Truckee mayor dies

Truckee lost a devoted public servant Saturday with the death of former town council member Don McCormack, who doctors say may have suffered an aneurysm.

Most recently serving a second term on the Airport Community Outreach Team, McCormack also served two terms with Truckee Town Council from 1994 to 2002, including two years as mayor in 1996 and 2001.

“For me personally, Don was great council, he was involved in everything,” said Town Manager Tony Lashbrook. “Everything he did was well thought out – he demanded that on town council.”
