Divine Spark will host a luncheon and support meeting for the homeless of Nevada County at noon May 14 at the Madelyn Helling Library Conference Room, 980 Helling Way in Nevada City.

Among the guest speakers, and their presentations, scheduled to follow the luncheon are Vishnupriya, “Finding Happiness Within;” Katheryn Smith, M.D., “Going in Poetically;” Suzanne E. Carlock, Ph.D., “Transcending the Ego” and Tomas Streicher, founder of Divine Spark, “Anomalous Experiences.”

Admission is free, although donations will be accepted.

Divine Spark is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to serve the poor and needy and to raise consciousness through gift giving.

GED prep class available

You can prepare to take your GED test at the Family Resource Center on the Oak Tree Campus in North San Juan. Prep classes are held twice a week. Other Cal Works activities are also available. Sponsored by Nevada County Social Services and Child Advocates of Nevada County. For more information call 292-3174.
