The Nevada County Democratic Central Committee has announced its endorsement of Grass Valley resident Terry Lamphier for the position of Nevada County Supervisor District 3 on the June 6 ballot.

Lamphier is challenging incumbent John Spencer for the District 3 seat in the primary election.

“Terry has a demonstrated an ongoing commitment to maintaining the qualities of life that makes Nevada County so attractive to live and work in,” stated Mary Longmore, chairperson for the NCDCC. “He has taken strong positions on the issues of development, while serving on the Grass Valley Planning Commission.



“He has been outspoken in his views that development must be accompanied by solutions, not just promises of solutions, in dealing with infrastructure issues such as streets, traffic, public facilities and recreational opportunities for younger people in particular.”

Longmore also stated that Lamphier also concerned that any larger scale residential development that does occur in the county be accompanied housing by that is truly affordable for our Grass Valley police, fire, educational, medical and other service people.




Judicial candidate to be at cafe

Tom Anderson, candidate for Nevada County Superior Court Judge seat 1, will be on hand for a complimentary coffee from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at Wisdom Café, 426 Broad St., in Nevada City.

Anderson, a Nevada County public defender, is vying for the same seat as prosecutor/city attorney Michael Colantuono, attorney Timothy Jensen, attorney Robert Litchfield, Jr., attorney Ray Shine, and attorney Kristin Smith.
