KVMR 89.5 Community Radio has invited three candidates to Nevada City to interview for the position of general manager.

There is a public component to the KVMR General Manager hiring process which invites all interested KVMR stake holders to attend a public forum, meet and put forth questions to candidates and provide written comment to the board of directors.

All written comment shall be sent to and must be received by 5 p.m. March 13 to be considered.

Each candidate will be interviewed separately.

Forums have been scheduled for the following times and locations:

Today – 7 p.m. at Nevada City Hall Chambers, 317 Broad Street, Nevada City

Thursday – 7 p.m. at Nevada County Superintendent of Schools Office Conference Room, 112 Nevada City Highway, Nevada City

Friday – 7 p.m. at Nevada City Hall Chambers, 317 Broad Street, Nevada City

Stained Glass workshop today

“Creating With Stained Glass” taught by Anita Flanigan, a four-week workshop takes place at The Flanigan Art Studio in Nevada City, begins from 9 to 11:30 a.m. today. The workshop is for cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers will teach basic procedures for stained glass assembly. It will give the student a foundation for all stained glass work, including safety, the accurate cutting and fitting of glass, assembly in the copper-foil method, soldering, and completing one or more pieces.

For this class you will need:

A box (like a shoe box), protective eye wear, scissors, a file folder, a small glass jar with lid, masking tape, and Band-Aids. If you wear sandals, you must wear socks. $40. For registration call 274-6872.

New hours for Bear River Library

The Bear River Station of the Nevada County Public Library has made changes in its hours. The new hours for Saturday will be from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. The hours for Monday and Wednesday will remain the same: 3 to 7 p.m.

The Bear River Station has shared the school library facility on the Bear River High School campus since 2002, allowing community access during non-school hours. Bear River High School is located at 11130 Magnolia Road near Lake of the Pines.
