BriarPatch invites grant applications from local profits

BriarPatch Co-op is accepting applications from community groups for grants of $200 to $1,000. Local nonprofits and cooperatives working in the areas of agriculture, food, health, environment and other community issues are welcome to apply.

Grant applications will be accepted through Aug. 31 and awarded in October.

The natural foods grocer will donate a total of $2,000 to the community this year from its Cooperative Community Fund. The endowment fund was established in 1999 by BriarPatch and Twin Pines Cooperative Foundation and has supported 30 groups since its inception.

Applications are available at the store at 290 Sierra College Drive in Grass Valley, or can be downloaded from http://www.briarpatch.coop. To request the application by mail, call Stephanie Mandel-Austin at 271-2034.
