Body of suicide victim found in GV identified

A man found dead of suicide Tuesday in Grass Valley has been identified, according to police.

Capt. Greg Hart said Friday the man was a Grass Valley resident in his early 30s. The Union is withholding the man’s name.

The man didn’t have identification when his body was found by a couple in a wooded area on the 800 block of Idaho-Maryland Road. No foul play is suspected, and the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office, which handles coroner cases, said the man died of an apparent hanging.
