During spring Community Service Day last Friday, all students and staff at Bitney College Prep High School gave back to local organizations by donating their time and energy.

Students and staff volunteered across town in eight separate groups that included rolling up sleeves at the Nevada County Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, Brunswick Village Assisted Living, the Bennett Street Meadow with State Parks, Deer and Squirrel Creeks with the Land Trust, and Women of Worth.

A group also stayed on campus to clean up, paint, and re-organize a number of tables and books.

The event accompanies the focus of the school, said principal Bruce Herring, who also thanked the organizations for hosting the school.
