Big rig flips onto side

Traffic on Pleasant Valley Road was delayed more than an hour Friday after a big rig flipped onto its side near Lake Wildwood.

The driver, whose name wasn’t available, swerved to avoid a dog while heading northbound a mile north of Lake Wildwood’s north gate at about 3:05 p.m., California Highway Patrol spokesman Troy Marks said.

The rig blocked both lanes until a tow company began removing it just before 4:30 p.m. No cargo was spilled, and the dog was unscathed and with its owner, Marks said.
