Benefit performance of ‘Trials of Clarence Darrow’

The Nevada County Jewish Community Center Sisterhood will present “The Trials of Clarence Darrow” at 7:15 p.m., Oct. 12.

The play, written and performed by Paul Hauck, is based on attorney Clarence Darrow’s career. Darrow was a leading member of the American Civil Liberties Union and defended high profiles cases in his career, including the 1925 “Snopes Monkey trial,” about teaching evolution in high school. The performance is a fundraiser for the NCJCC Sisterhood. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The show will last for two hours, with a question and answer session to follow. Tickets are $15 per person and available at the Bookseller in Grass Valley. It will be presented at 506 Walsh St. in Grass Valley.
