Bear River High School’s choir group, Jazz Unlimited, directed by Thom Greathouse, attended the 29th annual Santa Cruz Jazz Festival this past Saturday at Cabrillo College in Aptos.

Jazz Unlimited sang four songs: “Brazil,” “All The Things You Are,” “The Night We Called It A Day,” and “Operator.” Some of the criteria the group was judged on was its ability to blend and balance, intonation, precision articulation, swing jazz concepts, appearance and time rhythm.

Jazz Unlimited earned a unanimous “superior” rating, 1’s from each judge (the top score). The group was able to enjoy some fun at the beach boardwalk before returning in the evening for a command performance.
