Bail stayed at $1 million for a Penn Valley-area man arrested on methamphetamine-making and weapons charges after a raid on his house this week.

If John Lee Alldritt posts bail, he must show the money didn’t come from drug proceeds, Judge John Darlington ruled at Alldritt’s arraignment Thursday in Nevada County Superior Court. Deputy District Attorney Kathryn Kull sought the provision.

Alldritt’s lawyer, Assistant Public Defender Richard Wilcox, said legitimacy of bail is often verified through declarations or employers.

As for Alldritt’s case, Wilcox said he couldn’t comment without having seen law enforcement reports. Alldritt is scheduled to enter a plea Jan. 16.

Alldritt, 51, and Lisa D. Knutsen, 27, were each arrested Tuesday morning. Knutsen, whose toddler was placed with Child Protective Services, later posted $50,000 bail. Her arraignment is Jan. 27.

About 50 state and local officers stormed the Mellow Pines Drive home, seizing a half-pound of meth, two gallons of meth solution, large glassware for making the drug, meth chemicals, a quarter-pound of marijuana and 33 guns, a few of which were stolen, according to the state Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement.

Forty-nine gallons and 25 pounds of suspected meth chemicals were found near the house, the BNE reported.
