Author’s signing turns into benefit

By The Union staff

Nevada City psychologist and author Richard McCutchan accidentally fell from the roof of his house on April 29 and was seriously injured.

While he is expected to recover from his injuries, McCutchan remains in the trauma center at Sutter Roseville Hospital for the time being.

McCutchan was scheduled to read from his newly published book, Awakening the Spirit of Osiris: The Transformative Power of Anger, on Friday at the Mowen Solinsky Gallery. In honor of McCutchan, his friends and associates have decided to hold the reception, reading and book signing as scheduled as a benefit.

The benefit/event will take place from 6-7:30 p.m. with the reading. Dr. Max Vogt, who wrote the forward to Dr. McCutchan’s book will read and speak about the inspiration for this mythic view of anger. As a psychologist, Vogt is widely recognized for his dream interpretation work and has recently published a course guide for the nonprofessional on understanding dreams.

There are plans for a drawing with prizes as part of this fundraiser for the McCutchan family. For information call 265-4682.
