Assemblyman recognizes anniversary of Pearl Harbor

State Assemblyman Brian Dahle issued a statement Thursday evening recognizing Friday as being the 71st anniversary of Pearl Harbor.

Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day honors those service members injured or lost in the attack on military forces stationed at PearlHarbor, Hawaii on Dec. 7, 1941.

“It is important to take time and reflect on those brave individuals who lost their lives during the attack on Pearl Harbor and honor those who survived the ordeal,” Dahle said in a news release. “The events of December 7th, 1941 changed thecourse of history and shaped the fate of an entire generation.

“Today, I join with my family in remembering not only the sacrifice of those in Hawaii, but in thanking veterans of every war and conflict, especially those here in the North State, for their courageous dedication and service to our country. They are a steady and sobering reminder; freedom is a precious gift and one that has to be protected and preserved.”

Dahle, R-Bieber, represents the California’s 1st Assembly District, which includes Nevada County.
