Art sale, deli night this week

Members of Peace Lutheran Church in Grass Valley have donated more than 500 items for an art and antique sale set for Saturday, Oct. 9.

Organizer Lois Studt writes: “No two are alike; there are some very lovely things, and some very fine old things. That members have been willing to donate these treasures highlights a true giving spirit and an effort by the older members of our congregation to support the activities of the youth and children.”

Items include those tall, 1950s ceramic vases that folks are collecting these days; and Roseville pottery, milk glass, oil paintings, vintage dolls and books, and a beautiful set of wax fruit on a stand under a glass dome – an honest-to-goodness antique, Lois says.

“Many of us have moved several times and are now downsizing in retirement,” Lois explains. “We have too many beautiful objects for our smaller homes. We need to share them with others who would value them. The donors hope these pieces will find news home to grace.”

The sale is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, in the fellowship hall of the church at 828 W. Main St., Grass Valley (lots of parking).

For more information, contact Lois Studt at (530) 432-3186 or Dave Gable at (530) 432-4406.
