APPLE gets personal with fall discussion series

After nearly a year in downtown Nevada City, the APPLE Center for Sustainable Living is changing its style.

Starting in September, the center will take a break from large public forums in favor of smaller, more intimate discussion groups. The goal is to facilitate more discussion and personal connection on the theme of sustainability.

The pilot fall discussion series will feature two tracks: “Think Globally” and “Act Locally.” The first track will focus on the global picture – what is happening on economic, environmental and energy fronts. It will challenge participants to step back from their pre-determined world view and critically investigate the big picture and varying perspectives.

The second track, “Act Locally,” will focus on the actions people can take in their daily lives to help transition the community to a more sustainable, resilient future.

The discussion series starts Sept. 22. Pre-registration is required and space limited. For information, contact the APPLE Center at 478-1700 or Info@APPLECenter.org or go to http://www.APPLECenter.org.
