Appalled with The Union’s ‘special report’

I don’t usually write in to newspapers about their coverage of issues, but your “Special Report” on the legalization of marijuana was appalling and biased. Every article showed multiple reasons we should vote against such legalization. Where are the pros on this issue? What kind of tax base can be realized from the sales of marijuana? How could this money be put to use to help our ailing economy, and dig us out of the black hole our state’s populace is in?

I had hoped The Union would provide some clarity on this issue with this series of “Special Reports.” Which way should I vote? According to your writers, I should vote against legalization, and leave the status quo for the cartels to do as they have been doing to our public lands and fetching high prices for their product. But what if marijuana were legal? Couldn’t we use some of the tax base to restore these lands and provide for law enforcement to keep fighting against those that chose to remain outside the law?
