Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 23, in Malden, Mo., at Landess Funeral Home for Anna Deneve Hester. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Malden, Mo.

Mrs. Hester of Grass Valley passed away June 19 at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. She was 84.



Mrs. Hester was born July 12, 1922, to William Clarence Schmidt Sr. and Lucille Deneve (Pickard) Schmidt, in Omaha, Neb.

In 1942, she married Harold H. Hester. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church, in Malden, Mo. Her hobbies included quilting.




Mrs. Hester is survived by sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Albert Morris of Grass Valley; sister, Ruth Singleton of Grass Valley; niece, Susan Morris of Grass Valley; niece and nephew, Cherie and Wayne Grimm of Grass Valley; daughter-in-law, Brenda Hester of Malden, Mo.; and three great-nephews, two great-nieces and one great-great niece, all of Grass Valley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Hester Sr.; sons Harold Jr. and Michael; daughter, Laura; parents; and two brothers.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
