Animal Film Festival puts out a call for entries

The Center for Animal Protection & Education is hosting an Animal Film Festival March 1, 2014 and has announced its call for entries in all categories, including student, short, feature and documentary films. The festival will take place at the Center for the Arts in downtown Grass Valley.

Filmmakers are encouraged to visit http://withoutabox.com to enter your films.

In its 20-year history, CAPE has put forward a number of animal rescue and educational programs about animal issues in today’s society. CAPE’s Animal Film Festival in Grass Valley will bring together people and filmmakers who strive to bring understanding and action that will benefit the animals on our planet.

“Now that CAPE’s sanctuary in Grass Valley has been established, we are ready to bring an event to our community that celebrates all animals,” said JP Novic, executive director for CAPE. “Companion animals, wildlife, animals used in entertainment and for food and clothing will all be featured in the films we plan to screen.”

Included in the film categories are “Films that Make You Laugh” and “Home-Made Movies about the Animals in our Lives.”

Novic added that awards will be given in several of the categories and encouraged local and animal-oriented businesses to sign up as sponsors of specific awards.

For information about how to enter a film, visit http://withoutabox.com/login/12562 or http://animalfilmfestival.org. To learn about sponsorship opportunities, contact CAPE at 831-336-4695.
