All Veterans Stand Down: Free vets event continues momentum gain

The Union staff

When Will Buck got involved leading the All Veterans Stand Down last year, 42 vendors were on hand to offer their free services to vets.

This year, Buck has gathered 48 service providers and hopes that next year even more will jump on board.

"Hopefully within a five-year period, it will be a true one stop shop," Buck said of the two-day event that brought more than 300 local vets to services.

"Next year we will have someone working resumes," Buck said.

In addition to the resume writer, Buck expects more employers to show up looking to hire veterans.

This year, chiropractic, vision, medical screenings, clothing, hair cutting, and DMV services were among those offered free to veterans.
