Aircraft goes missing from Truckee-Tahoe Airport

The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office is searching for an aircraft that went missing Wednesday from the Truckee-Tahoe Airport. The plane is white in color with blue and red stripes running down the fuselage. It has a tail number of N27WR.

Clayton Beck from Truckee left the airport around 12:40 p.m. Wednesday for a short flight in the Truckee area. He was supposed to return in time to attend a meeting in Reno in the afternoon. Beck, 37, was last seen in the two-seater RV-6 aircraft.

The local sheriff’s office is working with the California Office of Emergency Services and the Air Force Civil Air Patrol in its search efforts. Pilots are being urged to monitor 121.5 MHz and report any contacts to the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office at 530-582-7842.
