Accused molester to return to county

A Grass Valley man being held in an Alameda County jail on child pornography charges will be transported to Nevada County to first face at least 21 charges of felony aggravated child molestation.

Luis Ponce was scheduled to enter his plea for 57 misdemeanor pornograhy charges in Alameda County Wednesday, but no plea was entered.

“The charges pending in Nevada County are far more serious and it’s appropriate the Nevada County case should go first and ours should trail,” said Alameda County Deputy District Attorney John Creighton.

Investigators found child pornography in Ponce’s work locker in Alameda County, but they believe the children he videotaped reside in Nevada County.

Creighton said Ponce will be transported back to Nevada County to face the felony molestation charges within the next two months.
