Accident victim just moved to this area

Three people remain hospitalized from this week’s Camptonville-area collision on Highway 49 that killed a Texas woman.

Sharon Y. Elliott, 41, who recently moved here and was engaged to the driver, died Monday after the northbound Jeep Cherokee she was in skidded from an icy corner into the oncoming lane and collided with a delivery truck.

The driver and fiance, 39-year-old Jonathan Leigh Andrews, suffered minor injuries. Of his three other passengers, Michael Elliott was in critical condition Thursday at Sutter Roseville Medical Center, where Lorraine Elliott was in serious condition and Ross Elliott in fair condition, a supervising nurse said.

Andrews and Sharon Elliott recently moved here from Missouri City, Texas, and planned to marry in a couple of weeks, California Highway Patrol Officer Jerry Curro said. CHP didn’t have ages for the three hospitalized passengers.
