A break on the lake

“I usually catch my limit, but nothing today,” said James Murray of Deer Creek Park, paying a visit to the Cascade Shores boat launch Wednesday for the first time in two years. Murray said his wife is suffering from brain cancer, and his daughter, visiting from out of town, spent the day caring for her mother, which gave him a few free hours to cast his line for bass. “I just like being by the lake,” he said, “It gives me a chance to get out. Most of the time I can’t even leave the house.” The Murrays celebrated their 51st anniversary last week. “If the chemotherapy puts it into remission, we’re probably going to spend the next year traveling,’ Murray said, casting his line out again as a fish jumped in the distance.
