2 injured in separate crashes

A Lincoln woman was in critical condition and a Cedar Ridge man suffered cuts and bruises in two separate weekend crashes.

Kirsten M. Pollack, 30, was on Highway 20 near Steep Hill Road just outside Nevada City about 5:05 p.m. Sunday when her vehicle drifted off the north edge of the road, said Officer Jeff Pingree of the California Highway Patrol.

The drifting caused Pollack to overcorrect in her 1999 Jeep Wrangler and go off the south edge of the road, where she hit some mailboxes and rolled over down an embankment, Pingree said.

The woman was airlifted to Sutter Roseville Medical Center with a broken right collarbone, where she remained critical Monday, said hospital spokeswoman Robin Montgomery.

About 11:55 p.m. Saturday, Ronald L. Jones, 43, of Cedar Ridge, was driving his motorcycle westbound on the Golden Center Freeway just east of Gold Flat Road when he hit a concrete wall, Pingree said.

The collision caused Jones to go down and suffer cuts and bruises to his face, upper and lower body. He was treated and released at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital.
