Local filmmaker’s documentary to be screened in Israel

Nevada City filmmaker Larry Lansburgh’s documentary, “Dream People of the Amazon,” has been selected for screening in the Tel Aviv Spirit Film Festival, which takes place May 14-17, 2008.

The film, which has screened several times locally, tells the story of the Achuar, indigenous people of Ecuador, and their bold attempt to build alliances in the modern world to protect their culture and their pristine rain forest territory.

“I’m thrilled that my film is getting this kind of international exposure,” says Lansburgh, “because of the global importance of the Achuar people and their rain forest.”
