Local dance group raises money for local teen dancers

To help five local teen dancers attend Lines Ballet and the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, AirAligned aerial dance group ” a local dance troupe ” will perform at a benefit concert today at 8 p.m. at the Center for the Arts in downtown Grass Valley.

Amelia Eisen, 16, Hilary Brown, 16, Rachel Johnson, 16, Sierra Stockton, 17, and Taggart Pryde, 18, will spend four to eight weeks training with internationally known choreographers and dancers in San Francisco. Each training session will culminate in a public performance.

The tuition, room and board for each dancer costs $4,000 to $8,000. The benefit concert today is expected to raise some funds.

Tickets to the performance costs $25 and can be bought at the Center for the Arts Box Office on 314 W. Main St., Grass Valley, or by calling 274-8384, ext. 14.
