Local child with leukemia needs your help

A Nevada City 3-year-old is battling a rare form of leukemia and needs your help.

Logan Dunbar, son of Jennifer and Jason Dunbar, is currently at the UC Davis Children’s Hospital undergoing aggressive, adult-level chemotherapy treatments.

“He’s tolerating it pretty darn good,” grandmother Ellie Watson said this afternoon. “He’s got a 50-50 chance.”

“Logan is all boy,” said Jennifer Dunbar from her son’s Davis hospital room. “He’s very feisty, very spunky and very high-spirited.”

Dunbar said her son will have to go the hospital for nine-day stays every three weeks for treatments over the next year. To help Logan and his family with expenses, you can make a donation to the fund in his name at any Placer Sierra Bank.

In addition, a fund-raising dinner with live music will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 9 at the Sierra City Community Hall in Sierra County. For tickets, call 862-1502.
