Local bands featured at Cooper’s this week

Two shows featuring hometown bands will play Cooper’s this week.

Power rock quartet Last Season will headline tonight. The Nevada County group just finished its latest CD, “Don’t forget to remember.” Opening will be Bright Black Sky, an alternative rock band from Santa Cruz.

Founded a year ago, The Eloi will be at Cooper’s Wednesday. The eclectic rock group is comprised of Bill Kiley on guitar and vocals, Ben Milner on guitar, Thaddeus Stoenner on bass and Matt Amott on drums. The Eloi originals are on diverse topics ranging from life and death to “The Karate Kid.”

Cover price is $3 both nights. The shows begin at 8 p.m.

Cooper’s is at 235 Commercial St. in Nevada City.

Call 265-0116 with questions about either show.
