Lives Lived: Shawn West

Shawn Adam West, of Grass Valley, died Jan. 26 in Sacramento when he was shot in the heart. He was 26.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at Lindale Greens Mobile Home Park clubhouse, 7611 Elsie Ave., Sacramento.

He was born on June 9, 1983, in Sacramento, to Bev West. He spent his teenage years in Grass Valley.

Mr. West was the best father he could possibly be, a great friend and a wonderful, loving family man.

He is survived by his partner, Brandi DeGennaro, of Grass Valley; and his mother, Bev West of Sacramento. He adored his grandmother, Darlene Downs of Sacramento; and was the best brother to Ryan West of Browns Valley, and Steve and Kyle West of Sacramento. Most of all, he adored playing with his 21-month-old daughter, Makayla.

Mr. West was an amazing person whose life was cut short; those who knew him will never forget him.

May he rest in peace.
