Born in New York, N.Y. on April 29, 1921 to Morris and Rachel (Cohen)

Schnerman. Mrs. Wenzel graduated from Madison High School

Fort Lee, N.J. They were married for 60 years until his death on August

17, 2001 in Oceanside, Calif.

Mrs. Wenzel worked for 15 years as a social worker in Los Angeles

years as a certified mediator in Oceanside. She volunteered for many

organizations and gave of her energy and skills to make the world a

better place for battered women and families in trouble.

Mrs. Wenzel moved to Grass Valley in 2001 to be closer to her children. As she entered the early stages

of macular degeneration, she immediately signed up to serve on the board of the Sierra Services for the

Blind in order to help others struggling with her challenges. She served on the board for 5 years. She was

also an official “Welcomer” at Quail Ridge and served on the residence council for many years.

Mrs. Wenzel was a fit and active person who loved parties, dancing and “dressing up.” She participated

in Tai Chi classes until very recently and exercised faithfully up until the end of her life. She was a great

and loyal friend to countless people who will miss her upbeat nature, her sense of humor and her “get-upand-

go” spirit.
