Lives Lived: Robert Griffiths

Robert James “Jim” Griffiths died March 26 at home in Grass Valley. He was 70.

Service information will be determined at a later date.

He was born in Tremont, Pa., on Feb. 17, 1940, to Clyde Withhelder and Margaret Kathryn Osman Griffiths.



After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Marine

Corps, where he served from July 1958 to July 1961 as a CPI (E-4).




Mr. Griffiths was employed at Plaza Tire and Nevada County Fleet Service, where he retired from in 2002.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, golf, bowling and spending time with his beloved dog, Sam.

Survivors include his daughter, Tamira (Marco) Sacedo of Grass Valley; grandsons, Tyler and Mason Salcedo, Clayton Griffiths and Logan Webb of Grass Valley; and granddaughter, Taryn Salcedo of Grass Valley.

Mr. Griffiths was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly Griffiths in 2002, and his parents.

Arrangements are by Chapel of the Angels Mortuary and Crematory, 250 Race St., Grass Valley.
