Lives Lived: Richard Schorr

Richard “Rick” Mallory Schorr died Wednesday, Feb. 17, in Grass Valley. He was 62.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, at Crossroads Church, 10050 Wolf Road at Highway 49 in southern Nevada County. The Rev. Jeff Alaways will be officiating.

He was born Sept. 7, 1947, in Phoenix, to Jack Robert and Frances Rufert Schorr. He graduated from Anaheim High School and served in the U.S. Army.



Mr. Schorr married Doris in Heilbronn, Germany, on Feb. 11, 1970.

He was director of maintenance with the Nevada Union High School District for 30 years.




Mr. Schorr is survived by his wife, Doris of Grass Valley; son, Richard Wesley Schorr of Orlando, Fla.; siblings, Robert Schorr of San Clemente, Calif., Susan Nafziger of San Gabriel, and Cindy Cook of Hope, Idaho; and seven grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be sent to Crossroads Church for its ministries.

Arrangements are by Chapel of the Angels Mortuary and Crematory, Grass Valley.
