Lives Lived: Mildred Liddell

Mildred A. Liddell died Feb. 5 in Grass Valley. She was 79.

A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, at the Dew Drop Inn, 19729 Cerrito Road at Highway 49, in southern Nevada County.

She was born Feb. 17, 1930, in Uncasville, Conn., to Stanley and Stella Hammond. She attended school in San Diego.



She married Wayne E. Liddell on Sept. 8, 1973, in Reno, Nev.

Mrs. Liddell worked as a dietician for 15 years and was an Avon representative for 30 years.




She enjoyed traveling and was a member of the Moose Lodge/Boozete CH 6.

Mrs. Liddell is survived by her husband, Wayne E. Liddell of Grass Valley; sons, Ray E. Holcomb of Lookout, Calif., Roy E. Holcomb of Parowan, Utah, Russell E. Holcomb of Grass Valley, Ross E. Holcomb of Weimar, Calif., Richard E. Holcomb, of Beaver, Utah, Robert E. Holcomb of Grass Valley and Rex E. Holcomb of Grass Valley; daughter, Linda L. Rice, of Heber Springs, Ark.; sister, Barbara Benkey of Long Beach, Calif.; and 35 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Rod E. Holcomb; daughter, Stella E. Sipes; and great-grandson, Rhett E. Holcomb.

Arrangements are by Chapel of the Angels Mortuary and Crematory, Grass Valley.
