Lives Lived: Jennifer O’Brien

Jennifer Lynn O’Brien, 33, of Nevada City, had been missing since December 2005. Her remains were found north of Nevada City in August 2009. The cause of her death is still under investigation.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. March 5 at Hooper & Weaver Memorial Gardens in Nevada City.

She was born March 3, 1972, in Parkland, Wash., to William Paine and Elaine Lange. She was married on Nov. 22, 1998, in Parkland, Wash.



Mrs. O’Brien moved to Nevada County with her husband, Peter, in 2001 to be closer to their children, who reside with their grandparents, Jim and Janice O’Brien.

She will be remembered for her quick wit, love of fun and love for her children. She especially enjoyed Independence Day parades and fireworks, and carving Halloween pumpkins and trick-or-treating with her children.




Mrs. O’Brien is survived by her children, Samantha Kennedy, Jayson, Guinevere and Kyra O’Brien; husband, Peter O’Brien; parents; and two sisters and a brother and their families in Tacoma, Wash.

Memorial donations may be made to her children.
