Lives Lived: Ida Beckett

Ida Mae Beckett, a long-time resident of Grass Valley, died in Grass Valley on Feb. 8. She was 84.

According to her wishes, no service will be held.

She was born on Oct. 21, 1925, in Winner, S.D., to Evan and Daisy Evans.



She worked at many local businesses until retirement. She loved reading and walking, enjoying many trips to the Grass Valley Library.

She is survived by her children, Tim Haley (Karen) of Grass Valley, Susan Mellana (Mike) of Bass Lake, and Starla Hughey of Grass Valley; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.




She was preceded in death by her son, Thom Haley, in 2002; and nephew, Zachery Haley, in 2003.

Arrangements are by Hooper and Weaver Mortuary, Nevada City.
