LIves Lived: Charles Vasey

Charles Andrew Vasey, a resident of Lake Wildwood, died Jan. 19. He was 89.

A service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Francisco, where he will receive military honors as a retired United States Navy commander and veteran of three wars.

He was born in Collins, Iowa, on March 3, 1920, to Flora and Chauncey Vasey.



He married Odena Lorraine Vasey on June 10, 1944, in Seaside, Ore. Their marriage lasted 65 years, until his death.

Mr. Vasey is survived by his wife, Odena Vasey, of Lake Wildwood; children, David, Steven and Kimberly; grandchildren, Jennifer Clyde, Jessica and Candace Thatcher, and Ryan Vasey; and great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Kayla Clyde.




Arrangements are by Hooper and Weaver Mortuary, Nevada City.
