Gold Country Community Services announces new times for line dancing classes. Beginner I classes will be at 8:30 a.m. on March 30 and at 7 p.m. on March 31 with 17-year instructor Cheryle Spangler-Kinslow.

Classes are at the LOVE Building in Condon Park, 660 Minnie Street in Grass Valley.

The cost is $4 for Gold Country Community Services members and $5 for non-members.

Additional classes are offered from 8 to 8:30 a.m. on Monday and Wednesday mornings for those in the Beginner I class who need extra help with steps or dances.

Beginner I classes are designed for the student new to line dancing. A one-hour lesson will focus on learning the basic steps, including the vine, pivot turns, jazz box, kick-ball-change and others.

Beginner II students should have some knowledge of line dancing and the basic steps. The class includes a one-hour lesson with the emphasis on learning more challenging step combinations and dances that use these steps. Some of the steps learned are coaster steps, sailor steps, Monterey turns and more.

Classes are from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday and Wednesday mornings and Tuesday evenings from 6 to 7 p.m.

Intermediate classes are for the experienced line dancer. These are from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. on Monday and Wednesday mornings and Tuesday evenings from 8 to 9 p.m.
