Lillian Youngman

Lillian M. Youngman, 90, of Grass Valley died Tuesday, Dec. 24, at a local hospital.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services. Burial will be at the Greenville Cemetery in Greenville.

Mrs. Youngman was born on Sept. 4, 1912, in Utah to William and Katheryn Buckingham. She married James Youngman and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Greenville United Methodist Church. She worked as a volunteer at the Senior Center in Greenville, as well as the Indian Valley Hospital. She and her husband, James, had lived in Greenville for more than 50 years. She had been a resident of Nevada County for the past six months. She enjoyed sewing and gardening. She played softball into her 40s on various women’s softball teams.

She is survived by her daughter, Kaye Norwood of Nevada City; son, James Youngman of Marysville; brother, William Buckingham of Tooele, Utah; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Youngman, in 1989.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
