Lillian Ribble

Private services for Lillian Mae Ribble of Grass Valley will be conducted at the Washington Cemetery.

Mrs. Ribble died Wednesday, Jan. 15. She was 98.

She was born on April 6, 1904, in Stowe, Vt. She married Douglas Ribble and, they were proprietors of the Washington General Store and the River Rest Campground in Washington for many years. She was a past member of the Order of Eastern Star in Colfax, past president of the Business and Professional Women in Nevada County and a county resident since 1934.



She is survived by her son, Ken Ribble of Nevada City; daughters Ruth Thayer of Olympia, Wash. and Sally Druse of Redding; 14 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Ribble; daughter Bernice Sattler; and stepson David Piland.
